Eco round
An eco (economy) round is one where a team deliberately doesn't buy full equipment to save credits for a stronger buy in a later round — a core economy concept in VALORANT.
Eco round — definition
An eco round (short for economy round) is a round in VALORANT where a team deliberately skips a full buy — saving credits instead of spending them on rifles, shields and abilities — so they can afford a stronger purchase in a later round.
Managing the economy is a core part of tactical FPS strategy: teams weigh the cost of "forcing" a buy now against saving to guarantee full equipment next round. The same concept — and the term eco — applies in Counter-Strike 2, the game whose round-by-round economy VALORANT borrowed from.
