Bomb (plant / defuse)
The bomb (C4) is Counter-Strike's central objective: the attacking team plants it on a site and the defenders try to defuse it. Its detonation or defusal decides the round.

The bomb (the C4) is the central objective in Counter-Strike 2. The attacking team (Terrorists) carries it and tries to plant it on one of the map's bomb sites; once planted, it counts down to detonation. The defending team (Counter-Terrorists) wins by defusing it — or by eliminating the attackers before the plant.
Because a planted bomb forces a retake, "getting the bomb down" can win a round on the timer alone.
In VALORANT, the same objective device is called the Spike — VALORANT borrowed the plant/defuse structure directly from Counter-Strike.
