What is The International?
The International (TI) is Valve's annual Dota 2 world championship — the sport's most prestigious event. The winning team lifts the Aegis of Champions. For years TI prize pools were crowdfunded through in-game Battle Pass sales, peaking at the all-time esports record of ~US$40 million at TI 2021; pools have since shrunk after Valve retired the Battle Pass.
Recent winners: Team Liquid (TI 2024) and Team Falcons (TI 2025).
Malaysia at The International
Malaysia's landmark TI result is Orange eSports' 3rd-place finish at TI3 (2013) — then the best-ever placement for a Southeast Asian team. That all-Malaysian roster featured Mushi and led into the Team Malaysia → Fnatic era. Later, MidOne reached 4th at TI 2019 with Team Secret.
