Esports is a full medal sport at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan (Games window 19 September – 4 October 2026), continuing its medal debut from Hangzhou 2022. The competition is organised by the Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) with the Japan Esports Union (JeSU).
The programme
The OCA approved 11 medal events built from 13 game titles, including several already covered on this wiki:
- Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (12 teams)
- Honor of Kings (12 teams)
- PUBG Mobile
- Gran Turismo 7 (the racing title)
- Plus League of Legends, eFootball, Pokémon UNITE, Identity V, Naraka: Bladepoint, Puyo Puyo Champions, and a combined fighting-games event (Street Fighter 6 / Tekken 8 / KOF XV).
Notably, Dota 2 and EA SPORTS FC are not on the programme (eFootball is the football title).
Malaysia at the Games
Malaysia is a participating nation, competing in qualifiers across multiple titles and hosting some qualifiers in Kuala Lumpur (including League of Legends and Honor of Kings in June 2026). In MLBB, Malaysia is in the Southeast Asia qualifier group, from which several teams advance to the main stage. National representation is coordinated through the Malaysia Esports Federation (MESF).
