What is iRacing?

iRacing is a subscription-based, online-only PC racing simulator operated by iRacing.com Motorsport Simulations, launched in 2008. It is known for its serious, results-driven competition: a strict licensing and safety-rating system, laser-scanned tracks, and a deep calendar of official championships.

Official championships

iRacing runs several flagship series, including the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series, the Porsche Esports Supercup and the IMSA iRacing Pro Series. In 2025, Steven Wilson took his second eNASCAR title and Cooper Webster won the Porsche Esports Supercup.

iRacing and Malaysia's sim-to-real pipeline

iRacing is central to Malaysia's clearest sim-to-real story: brothers Naquib and Nabil Azlan made their names on iRacing, were spotted through Alex Yoong's eRacing events, and graduated to real-world racing — each going on to win the Sepang 1000km.

Frequently asked questions

Why is iRacing important to Malaysian sim racing?
