Load-cell pedals

Load-cell pedals measure how hard you press rather than how far — braking by force, like a real car. They are a key upgrade for consistent, repeatable braking in sim racing.

Load-cell pedals — definition

Load-cell pedals measure the brake by how hard you press rather than how far you push the pedal. A sensor reads the applied force/pressure — exactly like a real car's brake — instead of measuring travel as basic potentiometer pedals do.

The payoff is consistency: because you brake to a feel of pressure, you can hit the same braking point lap after lap, which is essential for competitive sim racing. A load-cell brake is one of the most impactful upgrades a sim racer can make, alongside a direct-drive wheelbase.
