EA SPORTS FC

EA SPORTS FC is EA's football (soccer) simulation, formerly branded FIFA. Competitive play runs as 1v1 Ultimate Team on the EA-run FC Pro circuit — distinct from Konami's eFootball.

What is EA SPORTS FC?

EA SPORTS FC is the football (soccer) simulation developed by EA Vancouver and EA Romania and published by Electronic Arts. It is the direct successor to the FIFA series: after EA's licensing deal with FIFA ended, FC 24 (2023) became the first title to ship without the FIFA name. The current release is EA SPORTS FC 26, launched 26 September 2025.

Competitive EA FC is played 1v1 in the Ultimate Team (FUT) mode on EA's own FC Pro circuit.

EA FC is not eFootball (or "FIFAe")

A common mix-up: since the 2022 split, EA runs its own competitive circuit (FC Pro), while the separate "FIFAe" brand now runs Konami's eFootball, Rocket League and Football Manager. They are different games. Malaysia's biggest football-esports result — Muhaimin "Minbappe" Razak's FIFAe world title — was won in eFootball, not EA FC.

EA FC in Malaysia

Malaysia competes in EA's "Asia South" region (Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and India). The scene is modest and regional — no Malaysian has reached the FC Pro World Championship — but there is a real competitive pathway, and Rajabos is the standout local name, having won an FC Pro Asia South regional cup. As a console title, EA FC is also a staple of Malaysian event circuits run by organisers like Esports Integrated.

Frequently asked questions

Is EA SPORTS FC the same as FIFA?

It is the successor. EA made the FIFA games until FIFA 23; after the licensing split, the series continued as EA SPORTS FC from FC 24 (2023) onward, keeping the same league and club licences but dropping the FIFA name.

How do Malaysians compete in EA FC?

Through EA's FC Pro circuit in the "Asia South" region — open ladders and regional qualifiers that feed toward the FC Pro World Championship.
